I spent a lot of time recording “Distant Karma” with Ondrej Jezek, and it was a dream of mine to make a record in Prague. Dream done. Now make the real part happen. Alexis Fleisig will be on the drums, and no doubt making some fun of me and providing comic relief with his endless commentary during the shows, as always. Chris Smet will be playing his amazing magical guitar parts, which raise PS songs to another level. Chris will also be watching every Belgium World Cup game, for sure. Aran Epochal will be joining us on bass guitar, and bringing all of his enthusiasm, presence, and the needed kick ass. And we have a new cello player, Vasek Orcigr, who’s a confirmed road warrior and is about to get a crash course in Paramount Styles. With these kind of people around I don’t have to do much, right? The songs will play themselves. I’ll have the old beat up Gibson acoustic, the guitar all these songs are written on, but with a few more distortion pedals than usual. “There are a few reasons that we don’t have a lot of ´online presence´. First, I’m not interested in spending a lot of time on the computer/internet cultivating social media. Second, there is nothing about what is essential to the project that is well-represented by digital media. The music we have up online is the minimum that I felt we could get away with to easily/freely share the recordings in the interest of booking/promoting shows.” Let´s hope it works again, this year´s TIMBER RATTLE tour is about to start.
